Abstract


The development of computer technology inspires to make computer applications "Expert System Determination Detection of Arabica Coffee Pests With Php Programming Language (hypertext preprocessor)”.  The purpose of this research is to make the application of expert system, as a means of the farmers to get knowledge about coffee plant pests and how to handle it and can prevent the pests that will attack the coffee plant. It is expected that this application can help farmers in handling problems in coffee plants in order to get maximum results. In this system built a program where the program is useful to diagnose pests and diseases in Arabica Coffee plant. There are 16 symptoms that produce 5 diagnoses of pests in coffee plants. The programming language used in designing this Expert System is php (hypertext preprocessor). For data storage, the author uses MySQL. The method used to determine the type of pest inference backward chaining method. While to build this Expert System application, the authors use Web-based applications that aims to use more widely, so farmers / the general public should not consult with an expert simply by using this application. The result of this application, users will be given a solution about pests that attack Arabica Coffee crops so as to cope with pests early on.
